Each gloom is special. Each post is unique in its own way. Sure, you have the obvious differences such as the pax attending, the workout itself, the date, and the amount of clothing some people choose to wear or not wear. Rarely, however, have I seen an entrance as motivating and awesome as Chuckles this morning. Having finally secured the Ghost Flag after several days delay, Chuckles comes tearing into the parking lot with the Mortal Kombat theme song blaring out of his truck cab and holding the Ghost Flag out of window. It was truly a sight to behold and seemed to only moderately concern the FiA group down the way. Awesome way to start a beatdown, so let’s get to it.
Warm-up: SSH x20, Hillbillies x20, Moroccan Nightclub x20, arm circles
The Thang: We are going for simplicity. Its you against you for an AMRAP tabata session. Start the timer for 1 minute, then 15 sec of rest. We aren’t stopping for anything, except maybe to resolve complaints about the lack of music. YHC spent a good 30 seconds trying to find a suitable play list when he stumbled upon his Hair Metal collection. Ratt, Cinderella, Warrant, GnR, Crue… all the classics were there.
Anyhoo, the tabata was split into 3 sections of 5 exercises. Repeat each series of 5 twice then we moved on to the next series.
Series 1: Core
8-count body builders, low plank hold, crunchy frog, mountain climbers, plank jacks
Series 2: Upper body
Incline merkins, decline merkins, dips, diamond merkins, wide arm merkins
Series 3: Lower body
Smurf jacks, Imperial Squat Walkers, Squat Jump, Step ups, Al Gore (only 1 round and a second smurf jack completed)
