12 PAX converged to Ogden Park this morning for a legendary occasion! This morning in the gloom would be the first ever conjoined Run & Ruck workout to happen @ Ogden! YHC was very excited to see a couple other ruckers show up in the gloom to join in on the fun!
Good Mornings X15, Gravel Pickers X15, Toy Soldiers X15
The PAX were highly entertained by Geiger’s jansport bookbag/ruck. He even claimed to have his mommy pack him a lunch and write him a special note for the day! The PAX then slowly moseyed to the track around the pond.
THANG: The Tortoise & The Hare Miles
PAX picked a starting point for the group to begin. The goal was to complete as many miles as possible during the rest of the workout; with all paces acceptable. The group was split into 2 roles: The 7 runners would be the Hares & the 5 ruckers would take the role of the tortoises. The runner would take off first with the goal as completing as many laps around the pond as possible. 3 laps = approximately 1 mile. Every lap they finished, they would stop at the starting point and complete 10 monkey humpers!
The Tortoises would take off after the hares. The catch was, every time a hare passed a tortoise during the workout, the tortoise had to complete 5 ruck squats. If more than one hare passed you, then you would do 5 squats for each. This encouraged the hares to push the pace to work the ruckers a little more!
The tortoises finished with a little over 2 miles completed and lots and lots of squats! Some of the hares pushed 4+ miles! The PAX all made their way back to AO at approximately 6:14.
Strong work by all this morning! Miles were pushed and great mumblechatter was had throughout! Prayers for our Leland brother Edger for the passing of his sister. Shout out to YHC for a great first day at my new job as a director at the soccer club. Toby Talk on Thursday night at Ogden Taproom. Prayers for a great rest of the week as we continue to look to God for wisdom.
Love all of you!
HushPuppy over and out!
