The Thang: We partnered up for a couponing lesson! Today’s theme was proper form. YHC demonstrated as close to, if not, perfect form on 3 foundational kettlebell moves: the swing, the Goblet Squat, the overhead press.
Aftereach partner group observed the exercises, they set off to complete a mini Dora in which they performed 50 Overhead Presses, 100 Goblet Squats, and 150 Swings with perfect form on each rep. The unique twist here is that partner 2 was holding Al Gore for a 20 count and critiquing partner 1’s form. Partner 2 tracked each bad rep and partner 1 had to redo those reps before switching spots.
Random Mary on the 6.
After completing our first mini Dora, we switched partners for a second Dora consisting of 50 Turkish getups, 100 cleans, and 150 kettlebell Lunges. Partner 2 held a static lunge while critiquing partner 1’s form and tracking each bad rep. Partner 1 redid all the “bad” form reps.
COT: Many prayers for a young lady who was the victim of sexual assault this summer and for her family as they are reporting this matter to authorities today. You can still donate to Chopshop’s adoption fundraiser through Venmo. There is a link on the mumble chatter channel. If anyone is interested in assuming the role of Heavy Metal Monday Site Q, please let me know. Responsibilities include: toting around the Kettlebells and flag, making sure your Q slots are filled up, ensuring pre-blasts and back blasts get posted. Strong work by everyone. We all are that much better than we were yesterday.
