The Thang:

Today we honored the observance of Veteran’s Day, which is commemorated on 11/11 each year. This year was the 100 Year Anniversary of Armistice Day. The armistice signing that went into effect at 11:00 am on 11/11/1918 in Compiègne, France called for the cessation of hostilities on the Western Front of World War I. The workout was as follows:

AMRAP in 11 Minutes:
11 Merkins
11 Burpees
19 WWI Sit-Ups
18 Squats
Run 100 Meters

Mosey to the Cinder Block stash, secure your block and circle up for Block Webbs.
1 Incline Merkin w/ Hands on Cinder Block followed by 1 Overhead Press w/ Block
2 Incline Merkins, 2 Overhead Press
We ascended this way all the way to 11 reps of each movement.

Mosey to the Pull-Up bars at the football stadium for a Pull-Up/Dip Circuit.

Start with 1 Pull-Up then 1 Dip, 2 Pull-Ups 2 Dips. AMRAP in 5 minutes with the goal of getting to 11 on YHC’s Weinke. You always have more time sitting at home planning your workout! We all ended up getting to about 6 reps of each before it as time to mosey back to the flag, arriving with about 30 seconds to spare.

-We were able to share thanks for all Veteran’s and got to express it directly to Tiny Tank and Sir-Mix in person this morning!
-Shoutout to Happy Gilmore for the drive by “Motivated!”. We would have been more motivated if you had stopped and joined us. I couldn’t find a lexicon term for this, but there needs to be one.
-We should have had more time to finish the workout but between our confusion from the drive by shouting, the lack of flag and then proper placement of the Battleship flag in lieu of non-existent Screaming Eagle Flag by Mr. Kotter and mumblechatter this created – we were running a few minutes behind.
-I commented during Block Webb’s that 8-Penny had promised free T-Rex arms at his Leland Metal Mania Q. Sir-Mix commented shortly after during our pull-ups that I he was certain my Q had surpassed anything 8-Penny had doled out in that department. He ended up being right, considering 8-Penny fartsacked his Q…:)
-Ended with another shout out to all our Veteran’s past and present.
-Dredd and Dark Helmet making a special trip to see Cape Fear on November 16th-17th and share the F3 Nation love post Florence. Happy Hour Friday night, followed by a Baywatch Convergence on Saturday morning.
-86th Annual Christmas Party will be held on 12/8 at A Road again this year – with Wreck it Ralph as our host and his 2.0 Bob Thee Builder on the grill for the pig.
-Grow Ruck with F3 Sandhills in the works for Mid-May/Mid-June. Let YHC know if you have interest.
