WHITE MEN “STILL” CAN”T SHOOT!!!

20 Pax posted (include The Q) for an action packed Baywatch beatdown this morning under perfect weather conditions…

Here is how it all went down:

Mosey over to the grass area by the baseball field –

  • Modified 3 Partner Derkin x 15
  • ATMs: All done in order, with no rest, without leaving plank position. 15 Alternating Shoulder Touches In Cadence (4-count), 10 Tempo Merkins (down on the 1-2-3, up on 4), 10 fast Merkins. That’s 1 complete round.  We did it twice of course!

THE THANG:

Once the Q was convinced that everybody’s arms were numb (or close enough in BTB’s case), he whipped out a basketball and bunch of notecards!!!!

He yelled “the name of the game is 2 outta 3”…

The rules were simple.

  • 12 cards note cards
  • 1 PAX stepped up to the free throw line. With 1 PAX at the free throw line, the remaining PAX were on the line behind the basket
  • The courageous PAX at the free throw line picked a random card from the stack and the Q read it aloud to the remaining PAX lined up on the court. On each card there were 2 exercises. First, an exercise that all the PAX on the line had to perform while the PAX at the free throw line was shooting. Second, the exercise everyone had to do depending on how well each person shot the ball. If the free throw was made 2 out of 3 times, we did the exercise on the card once. But if the free throws were missed 2 out of 3 times, the exercise was done twice!! The pressure was on to get 2 out of 3. Here are the results:

Card 1– PAX: Side white line Jump

Exercise: 2 Suicides x 2

Card 2– PAX: Side Straddle Hop

Exercise: 20 Merkins x 2

Card 3—PAX: Little Arm Circles

Exercise: 15 Squat Jumps x 1 (thank you Venus!)

Card 4—PAX: Seal Jacks

Exercise: 5 Burpees x 2

Card 5—PAX: Merkins

Exercise: Lunge to far end of court then sprint back x 2

Card 6—PAX: Russian Twist

Exercise: Spring to far end of court, 5 burpees, back to start 5 burpees x2

Card 7 – PAX: Plank

Exercise: 5 Burpees x 2

Card 8—PAX: Backboard tip drill

Exercise: 25 squats x 2

Card 9—PAX: Squats

Exercise: Sprint to far end of court then bear crawl back x 2

Card 10—PAX: Flutter Kicks

Exercise: Sprint to far end of court then 10 Merkins and back x 2

Card 11- PAX: Plankjacks

Exercise: 20 LBCs x 2

Card 12—PAX: Hold 6”

Exercise: Defensive slides up and down the court (2 times) x 2

Since no one could practically shoot, we ran out of time to do some other cool stuff and moved on with Mary.

COP at the court for some MARY.  (PAX was frustrated so they decided to continue the shoot ing for each exercise in MARY but the results were no different)

  • Low flutter x 20
  • Oblique Crunch x 10 on each side
  • Pretzel Crunch x 20 on each side

MOLESKIN

  • I would like to thank the PAX who posted and joined me this morning.
  • This was a sequel to the original workout back in 2015.  We had 4 PAX shot 2 outta 3. The Q thought he was going to face an improved PAX this time and was nervous about the intensity. BUT GUESS WHAT – the mighty shooters who stepped up to the line have fallen one by one (something to do with ball feeling like the 50 pounds!)
  • Kudos to Venus who was the ONLY one out of 12 that made the 2 outta 3!!! Who said playing tennis can’t improve your basketball skills…
  • Special welcome to 3 FNGs – Scott (FNG 1) – Blue Steel; Steven (FNG 2) – Bubbles, and John (FNG 3) – Zodiac. Hope to see you again soon!
  • Once again, consider Q’ing… F3 is a privilege and with that privilege comes a responsibility to lead.
